2026 Shoe Drive Complete

Thank You for Stepping Up for Seniors!

Our community came together in an incredible way. Thanks to everyone who donated, collected, sorted, carried, and shared our Shoe Drive, we raised $441.00 for Northeastern Senior Center's Building Project Fund.

A Special Shout-Out to Jordan & Sophia

A huge thank-you to our youth volunteers, Jordan and Sophia, who rolled up their sleeves and helped us move, organize, and load all those bags of shoes. Fifty-four bags is a lot of shoes, and we are so grateful for their energy, willingness to help, and community spirit.

They were there when it was time to do the heavy lifting, and they helped make the final pickup day a success.

From the Center to the Truck

Bag after bag made its way outside and onto the pickup truck. It took teamwork, muscle, and more than a few trips with the carts!

All Loaded Up!

Seeing the truck fill up with donated shoes was the perfect ending to a fundraiser powered by generosity from across our community.

Kathy, volunteer who dedicated many hours to sorting donated shoes

A Very Special Thank-You to Kathy

We also owe an enormous thank-you to Kathy for the many hours she dedicated to this fundraiser. Kathy sorted the vast majority of the shoes that were donated, helping us check, organize, pair, and prepare them for bagging and pickup.

That kind of behind-the-scenes work takes patience and a tremendous amount of time. We are deeply grateful for everything she did to keep this fundraiser moving from collection day all the way through the final load-out.

Two Fire Companies. One Amazing Community.

A huge shout-out goes to both the Strinestown Community Fire Company and the Mount Wolf Fire Company for joining in the fun and helping rally our community around the Shoe Drive.

What started as a little friendly competition became something even better: neighbors donating shoes, supporting local fire companies, and helping Northeastern Senior Center at the same time. Every donation collected through both departments helped us reach our final total, and we are incredibly thankful to both organizations and everyone who participated through them.

In our book, both fire companies are winners.

Our Shoe Drive Made an Impact Beyond Fundraising

Our final Funds2Orgs Certificate of Impact shows that the 1,415 pounds of shoes collected through this fundraiser also produced measurable environmental benefits.

35.41 lbs. of CO2 displaced
590,000 gal. of water saved

Environmental impact figures are taken from the Funds2Orgs Certificate of Impact dated July 31, 2026.

The Shoes Are Collected — Our New Home Is Still Taking Shape

The $441.00 raised through the Shoe Drive has been designated for our Building Project Fund, helping us prepare Northeastern Senior Center's future home in Strinestown.

Thank you for helping us turn donated shoes into support for the next chapter of our center.
